This panel intends to address (1) the challenges we face in achieving the decarbonization of the U.S. electric grid, including: the demands imposed by data center growth on generating and transmission capacity; the myriad obstacles to the more widespread deployment of renewable resources; and the impediments inherent in our legacy utility regimes, and (2) the promising opportunities for answering these challenges in the near and mid-term future.
