The world has consistently shown a limited willingness to fund the required levels of climate mitigation. Climate solutions that offer non-mitigation “co-drivers” – environmental, agronomic, or economic benefits that could lead to incentives or regulations that drive further adoption, scaling, and “stickiness” of the activity – that are valued by communities, farmers, governments, and industry are most likely to achieve the sociopolitical license and stability of broad-based funding, policy, and regulatory support needed to scale.
In this session, Yale experts will explore how benefits to public health, ecosystems, and agriculture can drive adoption of climate solutions in a panel moderated by Yale Center for Natural Carbon Capture (YCNCC) Director and Yale School of the Environment Professor Peter Raymond. Additionally, Yale Center for Business and the Environment (CBEY) Executive Director Stuart DeCew will moderate a discussion of “co-drivers” with FedEx CSO Karen Blanks Ellis and International Paper CSO Sophie Beckham.
